Creating Inclusive Employment: building strong digital futures for youth with disabilities

Infographics

The Creating Inclusive Employment (CIE) project is a March of Dimes Canada project that examines the state of digital skill development for youth with disabilities in Canada.

There has been little to no research in Canada examining the specific barriers and facilitators to digital skill development pathways for youth with disabilities that results in successful employment. Understanding how to enable youth with disabilities to engage in the digital economy is essential. The CIE research project specifically explored non-traditional educational pathways for developing skills for tech enabled positions in the Canadian workforce.

IDEA is a project partner on this Accessibility Standards Canada funded research, which draws on environmental scans, a rapid review, a world café, survey, and focus groups to highlight gaps in formal digital skills training and the growing reliance on community-based pathways.

These infographics provide high level information about the CIE project and recommendations for building strong digital futures for youth with disabilities. Further information about the project, the full project report and the recommendation report can be found on the March of Dimes Canada website and below.
