Be part of a big IDEA!
IDEA is a diverse, collaborative and solution-focused group of people. Together, we are working to build the capacity of employers to create accessible and inclusive workplaces, and to improve the employment outcomes of persons with disabilities.
To be successful, we need the voices, ideas and support of many. We need the input of persons with lived experience of disability. We need partnerships with employers and labour groups. We need the expertise of service providers, policy-makers and researchers.
We need you.
Here’s how you can be a part of our movement
You can get involved in several ways.
- Join the IDEA distribution list. If you want to learn about upcoming events such as our Speaker Series and hear about new tools and resources IDEA is promoting, joining the IDEA distribution list is your best bet.
- Provide information on promising initiatives. If you have developed or been part of an initiative — big or small — that was designed to improve the capacity of one or more workplaces to include persons with disabilities, we want to know about it.
- Participate in a pilot project. Once IDEA has identified an innovative solution for increasing workplace capacity to employ persons with disabilities, we want to pilot the solution in one or more contexts to assess its outcomes and identify the barriers and facilitators to its implementation. If you can help us pilot these innovations in your workplace, department or organization, we’d love to hear from you.
- Participate in scaling up innovations. IDEA will only succeed in building employer capacity to build inclusive workplaces and in improving the employment outcomes of persons with disabilities if the innovative and effective solutions we identify are widely implemented in new workplaces and across sectors. If you are interested in being part of scaling up innovations, we welcome the help.
